The Messenger app has become so important to Facebook that it wants to improve it at all costs, especially the ability to send ephemeral messages. In addition, for some time now, the social network has been very strongly encouraging Android users to install the app, especially when distinguishing between messages and the app.
This time, however, Facebook seems to want to go even further by forcing us to install Messenger. Users using the mobile version of the site, instead of the application we have recommended to save battery until now, could see and reply to their messages from the site, and that’s it!
As a matter of fact, if you want to go to your messages, you will be automatically redirected to the Messenger Play Store page without asking any questions. And when you come back you will get the message “You won’t be able to soon see your messages only from Messenger.“ After 3-4 trips between the mobile site and the Play Store, you can see and reply to your messages.

Facebook’s strategy is clear, they will be able to better retrieve information about you through Messenger on your smartphones. But don’t worry, there’s a little trick to circumvent the social network’s compulsion. If you are using Chrome to go to the mobile site, go to settings and then “see the site in the computer versionIf you go to see your messages from there, you will not be redirected.
