On Monday, August 3, the sentence was dropped: iDieudonné M’Bala M’Bala Facebook page is no longer accessible. Mark Zuckerberg’s social network has indeed deleted the comedian and political activist’s account. The page in question was listed as follows: 1.2 million subscribers.
A Facebook spokesperson explained the reasons for the removal: “In accordance with our policy regarding dangerous individuals and organizations, we have permanently banned Dieudonné M’Bala M’Bala from Facebook and Instagram. Permanently banning someone from our services is always a decision we carefully consider, but individuals and organizations who attack others based on who they are have no place on Facebook or Instagram.”
Dieudonné has been removed from Facebook and YouTube but is still available on Twitter
This isn’t the first time Dieudonné has been banned from the Web. His YouTube channel was deleted on June 29. The comedian, who has been convicted multiple times for anti-Semitism, had violated community guidelines by posting videos that included slander and threats. According to the video streaming site’s French subsidiary, dozens of videos violated YouTube’s rules.

On the day he was removed from Facebook, Dieudonné also posted a message on Twitter inviting his subscribers to join him on Telegram. A far cry from the number on his old Facebook account, Dieudonné’s Telegram account currently has just over 12,000 subscribers.
At the same time, the State is trying to enact a law aimed at controlling hateful content on the Web. The aviation law that Emmanuel Macron enacted on June 24, 2020, was disputed as unconstitutional. Although only “minor provisions” remain today, it nevertheless allowed the establishment of an online hate observatory affiliated with the CSA.
