When you open a new tab in the Chrome Android version, you have a page showing a few items: the Google logo, the search bar, and the Discover drop-down menu. The second may be soon completely disabled in an update.
This Explore menu displays news related to your interests from sites you are not used to consulting. Some prefer a blank, plain page. It will be possible soon.
Google Chrome will remove the Explore tab
Today it is possible to disable this menu by pressing the small cogwheel. If the tabs are no longer visible, the menu will still be displayed. Google will offer choice to remove it completely. Thus, the user’s page will no longer have any frills.
For this you need to do a little manipulation and chrome://flags, allows you to control certain features. Next, you will need to search for the tab Feed ablation and just turn it off. You will then have a much cleaner slate. It won’t really change the face of the world, but it’s always good to know that you can completely change your browser.
This “flag” is already available in the Canary version of Chrome, but a future browser update. As usual, it should automatically download to your smartphone or tablet, and if not, you need to look in the Play Store. For now, we don’t know if Google will take this functionality further or if it will just be a “hidden” function. Regardless, the Explore tab doesn’t seem really necessary. We can only understand that it disturbs some people who see it as visual pollution.
