Chrome: Google is preparing a Focus mode to avoid distractions and stay focused

Google added a new option to Chrome Canary, the development version of the web browser, reports the site GHacks. Focus mode is still at the very beginning of its development. It will take a few more months for Google to complete the mod and integrate it into the stable version of its browser.

Google is working on Focus mode for Chrome

Designed as an alternative mode, it can be activated with a single click directly in the web browser interface. Once activated, Focus mode will offer a “minimalist interface for Chrome”. So this interface is expected to hide all of the less essential elements like images, videos (a bit like Full Screen mode) to highlight only certain elements of a web page.

Along the same lines, Focus Mode can disable browser notifications, GHacks points out. The mod can come in handy if you’re working on a project in your browser or watching a movie on Netflix or a documentary on Youtube and you don’t want to be bothered by your Facebook messages. The mod will be reserved for the desktop version of Chrome. Many third-party extensions already offer a similar mode.

We don’t know exactly what Google is doing at the moment. We’ll have to wait for a beta version to arrive for the general public to find out. This is not the only innovation in the boxes: Google is also preparing the dark mode, which is available as beta on Android, in addition to the ultra-fast mode for Chrome.
