On March 18, Google announced a temporary suspension of Chrome updates to allow its teams to adapt to working remotely. In a blog post published on Thursday, March 26, Google announced that Chrome updates are back on track.
Chrome 81 will be available from April 7, 2020

The blog post states that the Chrome 84 release date will be announced later. “We continue to closely monitor the stable, secure and reliable operation of Chrome and Chrome OS. We will keep everyone informed of any changes to our schedule.” Promises Google.
As a reminder, the company isn’t the only one that messed up their plans. Like Google, Microsoft has decided to suspend Edge updates during the health crisis.
