Chrome: Google fixes three critical bugs, install emergency update

Chrome, the internet access point of millions of users, is becoming a prime target for hackers. Security vulnerabilities are regularly detected there. For example, Chrome 80 fixed at least 56 vulnerabilities in addition to the new features that the new version of the browser brought. In the latest security note published on his blog on February 24, 2020, Google announces fixes three new critical flaws.

For security reasons, the team doesn’t give much details about the vulnerabilities in question. “Access to bug details and links is restricted until most users are up to date.” The firm states that one of the flaws bearing the CVE-2020-6418 reference has already been exploited by attackers, so it is urgent to upgrade to the latest version. chrome (80.0.3987.122) contains the necessary corrections.

Three defects are rated at a “high” hazard level. Two of these were discovered internally, and the third by an external researcher who was rewarded with $5,000. While we don’t have more details on these vulnerabilities, this won’t be the first time Google has made such patches available.

Last December, 5 critical vulnerabilities were fixed in Chrome. These breaches can be used to remotely execute malicious code or even steal your personal data. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner to immediately install the latest Chrome update, then Help > About Chrome. The latest update will be searched automatically. Install and restart the browser.
