Android: Nearby Share is available in France, how to easily transfer your files to a Windows PC

We told you about this a few weeks ago: Nearby Share will revolutionize file transfer between Android smartphones and Windows PCs quite simply. In fact, the feature has been around for a few years, but appears to be stuck in a beta phase where it’s struggling to come out. Nevermind: Google has announced that its availability has expanded to various regions of the world, including France.

So starting today, you can test transferring a file yourself between your devices without having to link them together. Nearby Share is a sort of equivalent of AirDrop for Android smartphones and allows you to send and receive files wirelessly. In fact, this feature strengthens the connection between Android and Windows, which is already installed thanks to the Connected Mobile application.

Easily Transfer Files Between Android Smartphone and Windows PC

To get started, you need to set up the feature on both your devices. Here is the procedure to follow on your Android smartphone:

1. download the app files from google by clicking the link below
2. open app
3. Click on the menu at the top left and then Settings
4. Scroll all the way down and tap . Close Sharing
5. enable option Use Nearby Sharing

Now you need to configure the feature on your Windows PC. Here’s how:

1. Click the link below for Download the Nearby Share app
2. click the button Get Started with Beta
3. start installation
4. Login Google account
5. To choose A name for your PC as well as devices that can send files

Now you are ready to transfer files between your devices. From your computer:

1. click select files Or Select folders
2. To choose file you want to send
3. choose smart phone where do you want to send the file

On Android:

1. open app files from google
2. go to tab Close Sharing
3. Press To send
4. Select the file you want to send
5. Press Following
6. choose name your computer
7. On your PC go to: Downloads to find it
