Google has released the third Android 13 beta for supported Pixel phones. The new release comes almost a month after the second beta, just in time and in line with the company’s previously announced release schedule. This version is important because it provides Android 13 platform stability.
This means that developer APIs and app performance in this next version of the OS are ultimate. Until the software is generally available in a few months, developers should now focus on compatibility and overall app quality, and fix the latest bugs. No significant functionality should be introduced in subsequent betas.
What’s new in Android 13 beta 3?
Google’s Beta 3 blog post is full of documentation for developers. make sure their apps are compatible with all Android 13 changes and improvements. It also includes new documentation for devices with large screens such as foldable smartphones and tablets. It covers changes in multi-window mode, taskbar interaction, and media streaming.
In terms of new features, the only major change seems to be the improved copy-paste. There are also new Pixel Launcher settings that offer users the following features. ability to enable web suggestions. This feature displays suggested search phrases for web queries as you type your text. You can also directly click New “Search YouTube” or “Search Maps” buttons when entering Google search.
As a reminder, if you haven’t tried Android 13 yet, you need to make sure your smartphone is compatible first. The list of eligible devices had grown considerably recently. If you have a last-generation high-end smartphone, this is probably compatible.
