The voice changer feature has been available on Android for a few years now, but it wasn’t compatible with Google’s own streaming dongle, Chromecast. The main concerns are Nest Hubs, Bluetooth speakers and other TVs with Google TV. Although this feature is useful, unfortunately it is far from affecting all Android smartphone owners and all applications. The first to benefit from this is YouTube Music, the music streaming service that replaced the defunct Google Play Music. Now, on the “Currently Playing” screen, the “Connected” box appears prominently below the track image.

Also, the availability and operation of the voice switch is not solely dependent on Google. All media player developers and streaming services, for example Spotify, Apple Music and other Netflix need to apply their own codes. Suffice it to say that the full deployment of this functionality is not for tomorrow. Journalists who were able to test it had the latest generation of smartphones, namely the Pixel 7 from Google.
Similarly, Voice changer won’t be immediately available on Samsung Galaxy, which uses its own software skin OneUI, it will need to adapt it before it can offer the functionality. Maybe it will appear in the OneUI 5.1 update?
