The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are impressive phones with many features, but a few are more important than others. It’s nice that they are water resistant, they have a good camera, but another thing all owners should know and use is fast charging. It is known as Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging.
Many business owners are probably looking for accessories for every room of the house, Galaxy S7 cases and, of course, extra chargers. Here we will explain in detail what fast charging is and recommend a few great options for users to purchase.
Quick Charge, Turbo Charge, or Adaptive Fast Charge are names used by manufacturers. With battery capacity technology going nowhere, new ways to charge our smartphone battery faster have arrived. Basically, it allows the battery to turbocharge extremely quickly when it’s nearly exhausted. Samsung promises 5 hours of battery life after just 10 minutes on the wall charger. Great, isn’t it? Read on for more details and great chargers worth buying.
A technology Announced a few years ago, the so-called “Qualcomm Quick Charge” allows smartphones to charge faster than ever before. We now have Quick Charge 2.0 which allows a phone to charge from 0-50% in about 25 minutes and fully charge in about 80 minutes instead of 2-3 hours. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have this technology, and owners will want wall and car chargers that can take advantage of it.
Unfortunately, the S7 and S7 Edge only have QC2.0, not the newer Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which is even faster. While this is unfortunate, these phones still charge faster than most and have some of the largest batteries of any Galaxy S smartphone ever released. It also doesn’t have any issues like the Galaxy Note 7, which some of you may have returned for a Galaxy S7 instead.
Quick Charge Technology
Essentially, when the battery drops below 10%, it charges incredibly fast and gets about 50% battery capacity in less than 30 minutes. This is usually enough for the rest of a day at work or for users to spend a night with friends or family. After 30 minutes it gradually returns to normal speeds to preserve battery life and still ensure you are fully charged. Below is a preview of what fast charging does, as demonstrated by Qualcomm on the Nexus 6, which works almost the same as Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
As you can see Quick Charge is very fast. Using a regular charger found at a gas station or from an old device you took out of a box or cabinet, the S7 charges very slowly. In fact, it’s about as slow as a phone in 2012 or 2013 would do. The far end device hit 50% in the same time, with a regular charger only providing 22% battery life. That’s a huge boost and something worth using every day.
To enjoy these fast speeds, owners must use a Fast Charge certified wall outlet and any micro USB cable or charger that comes with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. When plugged in, the notification bar will say “Quick Charge” if it’s a good charger, or “Cable Charge” if it’s not a certified fast charger. Keep this in mind and search. It also reverts to standard cable charging speeds when it rises above 80%, as it charges at normal rates to preserve the life of the battery.
This is one of the best new features in smartphones that not many people know about for a long time. Luckily the Galaxy S7 has a Samsung “Adaptive fast charger” in the box, but if you’re like us and want something extra for other rooms in the house, below are seven excellent options to buy. The S7 series is more popular than ever and many Note 7 users have switched to it as well. So, grab a few chargers below and enjoy faster charging.
