Now that Google’s Android 9 Pie update is ready, Huawei users are patiently waiting for it to arrive. With that in mind, here we’ll go over everything we know about Huawei Android Pie updates and what you can expect. Including Huawei betas and Honor Android 9 updates.
In March 2018, Google released an Android P Developer Preview to Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL users to start testing as early as possible. Then, in early August, they officially released it to the world as Android 9 Pie.
So far, Android 9 Pie is only available for Google Pixel devices and a few select phones from other manufacturers. That said, Huawei is preparing to release multiple updates and has recently finished a few beta tests.
While Huawei isn’t one of the 11 manufacturers to partner with Google to work on Android P early, they’re still ahead of the competition. Actually, the company recently approved a few devices and a rough timeframe for when updates will arrive.
Most notably, phones like the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro listed as running Android Pie, or soon will be. In fact, what Huawei said about the updates “Firstly, the P20 series will be launched in September, and the Mate series will be released in the future.”.
As we enter December, we have seen many updates coming and more to come soon. Search for Android 9 Pie updates for Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play first along with other devices in 2019. Fido recently hinted at the P20 update in the next few weeks and first P20 update As of December 3rd. we already see Android Pie for Huawei MediaPad M5more.
Also, thanks to previous release cycles, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. We can start putting the update pie together and give you an idea of when it’s due.
