Today we want to change gears and talk about what to do when you get the Android 7.0 Nougat update on your Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge or Galaxy S7 Active.
Test All Your Connections
One of the first things we suggest you do right after installing Android 7.0 Nougat on your Galaxy S7 is to check your various connections to make sure they are stable.
Check your GPS to make sure it’s working properly. Samsung devices sometimes exhibit annoying GPS issues after a major Android release. Keep an eye on it for a few days to make sure your marshmallow is working as it did while on board.
You’ll also want to test your various Bluetooth connections. If you pair your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge with speakers, headphones, your car or any other device, you’ll want to make sure that Android 7.0 is compatible.
You’ll also want to monitor your LTE/4G service, Wi-Fi connections, and stability/speeds, as well as your Galaxy S7’s microSD card, a Chromecast, smart TVs, and other connected devices you trust in your home or office.

One of the best Galaxy S7 Nougat features requires a download. And if you store sensitive data/files on your Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge or Galaxy S7 Active, you will want to download Nougat immediately after installing it on your device.

Test Nougat Features
Your Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 Nougat update includes more than just cosmetic changes to the device’s UI. It comes with loads of new features, and some of them can drastically change the way you use your phone.
Android 7.0 Nougat is packed with some great changes like Samsung Pass, a new Performance Mode that can help boost your device’s (surprise!) performance, changes to the popular multi-window mode, a new Blue light filter, improvements to Quick Settings. and much more.

Don’t be afraid to look around and play around with some of the new features Samsung has introduced in Android 7.0.
Some you will rarely use, but others can be extremely useful. You never know until you try them.
Report Your Galaxy S7 Problems
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Nougat updates have gone through a public beta process. They’ve also gone through extensive behind-the-scenes testing at Samsung and its carrier partners.
This test cleared a number of bugs, but the Galaxy S7 Nougat issues have reached the official release of the upgrade.
As the output speed has increased, we’re starting to see more and more complaints about the Galaxy S7 Nougat update and chances are you’re running into a problem with your Samsung Galaxy S7.
If you run into a problem, be sure to report it. The worst thing you can do is to let the problem go unreported. You will want to pass on your experience to your carrier so they are aware of the issue. If you’re lucky and/or the complaints are high enough, you may see a fix in a future update.

Don’t Trust Samsung or Your Carrier for Fixes
Do not rely on Samsung or your carrier to solve your problems. If you run into battery issues, issues with your Wi-Fi, or issues with GPS or Bluetooth, you need to be extremely proactive.
At some point, your device will likely receive an Android Nougat bug fix update. The problem is that these releases are extremely unpredictable and erratic.
There’s also a good chance that the update won’t fix your problem or if you’re really unlucky it brings a different problem to your phone.
It’s okay to flaunt Samsung and your carrier on social media or in a forum anywhere. But while doing so, be sure to follow a fix for your problem.
Don’t Leave Your Apps Alone
Do not assume that all your apps and services will work properly after installing Nougat on your device. If you haven’t done this before installing Android 7.0 on your Galaxy S7, make sure to focus your apps.
If you trust apps and services, this might be a good time to check for Nougat support updates that you might have missed.
Developers are releasing bug fix updates to fix issues with Nougat. In the months since Nougat’s release, we’ve seen a steady stream.
If you haven’t turned on automatic updates or you’re behind, you should head over to the Google Play Store and see what you can find.
Before blindly installing an update, be sure to read the reviews. While the developers’ goal is to fix problems, some apps may still be having problems with Nougat.
You can also try reinstalling Nougat or an app that was giving you trouble after installing a new update.
