16 Best Samsung Game Launcher Settings You Should Know

With the Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung introduced a new feature, Game Launcher, for its phones. Your one-stop shop for all your gaming needs on a Samsung phone. You can check your game stats, history, and leaderboard, among other cool things. Game Launcher provides a gateway to great settings to enhance the gaming experience on your phone. In this article, we will talk about the best Samsung Game launcher settings that you should use.

Anyone who likes to play games on mobile will really like the Game Launcher app. You can call it a regular launcher on steroids, but only for games. While playing games, you can use other applications, record your screen and even change performance modes according to your phone’s capacity.

Let’s take a look at all the interesting features you get in Game Launcher.

1. Enable or Disable Game Launcher

If you don’t see the Game Launcher icon on your phone, it may be disabled. To enable it, follow these steps:

Stage 1: Open Settings on your phone and go to Advanced features.

Step 2: Enable the toggle next to Game Launcher.

You will find the newly added Game Launcher icon in your phone’s app drawer. To disable the game launcher, repeat the steps and disable the same toggle.

2. Silent Games

If the game you’re playing doesn’t offer audio controls or it’s buried deep in the settings, you can mute the game using the Game Launcher.

To do this, tap the mute icon at the top of the Game Launcher app’s home screen. Tap the same icon to unmute.

3. Add Game Apps to Game Launcher

By default, all games appear automatically in Game Launcher when you activate or install a new game. If a certain game is behaving strangely, you can add it to Game Launcher manually.

For that, swipe up on Game Launcher’s home screen to open the game library.

Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and select Add app. Then select the apps you want to have in Game Launcher.

Fly: Besides games, you can even add regular apps to Game Launcher.

4. Organize or Sort Games

Do you have a few games added to Game Launcher? Is finding your favorite game a task? While Game Launcher doesn’t allow you to add a game to your favourites, it does allow you to sort them for easy discovery. To do this, open the game library by swiping up. Tap the three-dot icon and select Sort games.

5. Customize the Game Library

The section with the games in Game Launcher is called the library. You can change the icon size of the games, change how the library opens when you start an application, and customize the position of new games in the library. All of these options are gathered in the Library settings.

To get to it, open the library by swiping up on the Game Launcher. Tap the three-dot icon and select Library settings. Then change each setting according to your preference.

6. Declutter Home Screen and App Drawer

Are you an app addict? If your answer is yes, you can clean up your app drawer a bit by not showing games in it. Then games would only be visible in Game Launcher.

To enable this feature, open Game Launcher and tap on the three-bar icon at the top. Tap the settings icon.

Turn off the switch next to ‘Hide games in Home and Apps’.

7. Change Screen Recording Resolution

It’s no surprise that you can record or take screenshots of your screen with the help of Game Launcher. The interesting thing is that you can customize the resolutions of the screenshot and screen recordings.

There are two ways to change this setting. First start playing a game on Game Launcher. Tap the performance icon at the bottom and then the settings icon.

The app will take you to the Game Booster settings. There you will find Screenshot resolution and Recording resolution. Tap on them to change them.

Alternatively, follow the method outlined below to access the Game Booster settings. These steps will apply to all settings mentioned later.

Stage 1: In Game Launcher, tap the three-bar icon at the top.

Step 2: Tap on game performance.

8. Record Your Voice While Screen Recording

If you want to talk while recording your screen using Game Launcher, there is a setting for that too. Under the resolution settings within Game Booster settings you will find the ‘Use microphone when recording’ option. Activate it.

9. Lock Screen During Gameplay

Sometimes you may want to pause your game for a bit. Instead of turning off the screen and then going through the whole procedure of unlocking and continuing the game, you can use Game Launcher’s native lock screen feature.

When enabled, your screen will not turn off. To continue the game, you need to drag the lock to the bottom. Tap the screen lock icon at the bottom to lock the screen.

10. Reduce Power Usage when Screen is Locked

It is conceivable that locking the screen in the above way would consume a lot of battery power. To conserve battery, Game Launcher offers a native power saving setting for games by lowering the frame rate. Go to Game Booster settings and enable the toggle next to ‘Power saving when locked’.

11. Launch the Game in Full Screen

Some users enjoy playing games in full screen mode. Unfortunately, not all games are designed for this. But with Game Launcher you can force any game to open in full screen.

To use this feature, go to Game Booster settings. Tap on full screen apps. Tap the app you want to use in full screen and select Full screen.

12. Hide Camera Notch

Game Launcher also allows you to hide your phone’s notch while playing games. A black bar will be displayed to hide the entire region of the notch.

For this, open the Full screen application setting from the Game Booster settings. Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and select Advanced. Enable the toggle for Hide camera cutout.

13. Change Right Shortcut Icon

When you start a game in Game Launcher, you will see two new shortcut icons in the navigation bar. You can customize the right one, while the left one cannot be changed. You can save it to take a screenshot, record the screen, activate the screen lock and more.

Touch and hold the shortcut icon to change the shortcut. A list of available options will open. Tap the one you want to keep.

Alternatively, go to Game Booster settings and tap Shortcuts. Select the shortcut you want to use.

14. Change Floating Shortcut

Besides the two shortcuts in the navigation bar, Game Launcher also adds a floating shortcut. You can keep it anywhere while playing your favorite game. The shortcut can be used to take a screenshot, record a video, open the popup panel, and more.

To customize the floating shortcut, go to Game Booster settings. Tap the floating shortcut.

15. Customize the Pop-up Panel

The dropdown panel in Game Launcher allows you to open apps floating above the game, as shown in the screenshot below.

So you can watch videos playing your move in a game. However, only four applications can be added to the panel. To customize apps, you need to open the Dropdown panel settings in Game Booster settings. Then add or remove apps.

16. Change Performance Mode

Game Launcher comes with three performance modes: power saving, balanced and performance. You can change it whenever you want and use it according to your needs.

To do this, go to Game Booster settings and then Game performance.

Run Game Launcher

While Game Launcher sounds great with the above settings, it’s bound to run into issues like any other app. If Game Launcher is not working on your phone, you should clear its cache and data. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > Game Launcher > Storage on your phone. Tap on Clear cache and then Clear data. I hope Game Launcher starts working in all its glory.
