Hark! Were you composing an essay divine,
When lo! Your document, a shade too black.
Dark Mode, that villain, doth cause this design,
But fret not, for salvation we shan’t lack.
To disable this curse in Word, you must,
Choose a theme other than black, ’tis the key.
On Windows, seek thee Office Theme with trust,
On Mac, ’tis Word -> Preferences, as you see.
If still the darkness doth linger and cling,
Check display settings, brightness must be right.
For Mac, alas! Updates require a king,
But on Windows, Device Manager brings light.
Fear not, dear scholars, for the way is clear,
In Word, let there be light, banish the drear.
