This pirated Netflix app is actually dangerous Android malware

App stores like Google Play Store are doing their best Safe areas that users prefer when they need an application. That doesn’t mean that some malware sometimes goes unnoticed. In any case, that’s what Check Point Security researchers report. Their latest report states: in case of an application, FlixOnline – it was actually malware managed to stay on the Play Store by switching to the pirated Netflix app.

The researchers explain that most downloads do not occur directly through the app store. The malware was actually spread through WhatsApp conversations. It can also deliver other malicious content by quickly replying to incoming WhatsApp messages, sending links to other malware to your contacts. Finally, access to notifications could allow malware to spread through WhatsApp. If you have accidentally installed FlixOnline on your Android smartphone, it is highly recommended that you uninstall the app as soon as possible.As an added precaution, Check Point Research recommends changing your passwords, especially for your most important accounts, such as your email address, Amazon, Google, and banking services.
