The “Disenchantment” series is returning to comics with over 500 new pages of history. Maintaining the tradition that began with “The Simpsons” and went on to “Futurama”, Matt Groening, the designer responsible for the design series, will continue the story of Queen Bean in Titan Comics.
Titan is a comics and magazine publisher that has an extensive and productive original intellectual property. She is responsible for publishing titles such as “Conan the Barbarian”, the “Minions” and characters from “Star Trek” and “Doctor Who”.
About “Desencanto: Contos Inéditos Vol. 1”, the publisher announced that:
“Only the first two issues of these comics were previously released as a convention exclusive in 2019, and over 500 pages and 17 issues of original strips, featuring all-new stories, have gone unpublished…until now. […]
The first graphic novel in this exciting series also features exclusive content from the show’s creators.”
The future of the ‘Disenchantment’ series on Netflix
The series “Disenchantment” has not yet been officially canceled by Netflix. However, it has been over a year since anything new about animation has been released on the streaming.
Fans’ fears are due to the platform’s harsh context with animations in general. This was one of the divisions that was hardest hit by cuts last year. The uncertainty increases mainly because the series was not the audience success that Netflix expected from the creators of “The Simpsons”.
But that’s it, there’s a formula that can’t be repeated, there’s no way around it. It may be that, like one of its predecessors, “Futurama”, which went through several ups and downs throughout its time on screen, “Disenchantment” will stand the test of time, hiatuses and be able to come back with everything and offer another cycle to viewers.
So, it could be that Princess Bean will return once again, tall and accompanied by her Elf companion and her “personal demon”, Luci. But in the meantime, it is possible to continue knowing what the future of this trio’s story will be in the comics.
