Gboard: the keyboard has an “undo” option to fix errors with one click

panel

Google doesn’t do things by halves when it updates Gboard. The Mountain View company recently introduced two small revolutions to the Android keyboard. The toolbar has been completely redesigned to give its users more control; The interface can now be moved anywhere on your smartphone screen. In other words, Google seems to have one word in mind when it comes to improving Gboard: flexibility.

This motto also applies to the latest innovation of the keyboard. Despite their many improvements, smartphone keyboards often have huge limitations compared to their computer counterparts. Where undoing a recent entry on Windows or Mac is particularly easy using the Ctrl + Z or Cmd + Z shortcut, smartphone users must delete each character one by one to achieve their goal. Not very practical.

Latest Gboard beta saves the clumsiest people valuable time

That’s why Google is tackling this exact issue with its latest Gboard beta. This actually includes a “cancel” button that does exactly what its name indicates: cancels the user’s recent logins. This is located in the functions menu, so it takes two clicks to delete this nasty error in your text.

However, note that it is possible to place the “cancel” button in the quick access bar, making it easier to access. Finally, I would like to point out that the button has the capacity to clear all entries until you get an empty text bar, thus offering users a lot of flexibility. We expect the functionality to make its way to the general public version of the app soon.
