Waze has announced a number of new features that will be added to its app soon. These updates will include: New alerts for emergency vehicles, speed limits, hazards and intersections, as well as improved route options.
One of the main updates is the Emergency Vehicle Alert, which will notify drivers in advance of the presence of an emergency vehicle such as an ambulance, fire truck or police car on their route. This will help drivers clear the lane and avoid collisions. Warning will be available It launches today for users on Android and iOS devices in the US, Canada, Mexico and France. Waze adds new features to its application
Another safety update is Speed Limit Alert, which notifies drivers if the speed limit on their route changes or drops. The app will display a speed limit sign on the screen with the distance to the new limit. Thus, drivers will be able to adjust their speed and avoid penalties. Speed Limit Alert will be available for Android and iOS users this month.
Waze will be adding additional danger alerts to its app, thanks to input from its user community. Drivers will soon receive alerts about sharp turns, speed bumps and tolls on their routes, in addition to existing alerts for potholes, railroad crossings and more.
To improve the browsing experience, Waze will introduce traffic lane information at intersections. The app will tell drivers which lane to use and when to exit the intersection based on information provided by other Waze users.
Finally, Waze will help users choose their preferred route when traveling. The app will display traffic updates and delay information for each route optionand alternative route suggestions in case the preferred route is not ideal. Users will thus be able to save time and avoid traffic congestion.
