Android: Screen recorder may soon get a function not available on iPhones

The debate between Android and Apple never ends, and one of the topics that often leads to heated debates is the screen recording feature. Although both platforms offer built-in screen recorders, some users claim that:Android has an advantage over iOS in this area.

According to a report from XDA Developers, Apple may still lag behind as Google is working on it. A new feature that allows users to record only certain applications instead of the entire screen. This is a feature missing from Apple.

For example, if you want to record a gaming video, you can select only the gaming app and avoid recording your notifications, messages, or other sensitive information. Or if you want to save a tutorial, You can choose only the app you show and avoid ending up with an app you don’t want to open.

Although it seems quite simple, this function is not available on iPhones because they can only record the entire screen, regardless of the application used. This means you’ll need to either remove the parts you don’t want to show or turn on “do not disturb” mode to avoid any interruptions. The screen recorder hasn’t been on Android for very long either, ever since it appeared in Android 11 in 2020. Before this, Android users had to resort to third-party apps like XRecorder or AZ Recorder to capture their screens.

This new option for screen recorder is still under development and It is not clear when it will be made public. However, it is likely to be part of the Android 15 update, which is expected to be released later this year.
