Android 14: Thanks to this update, sharing Wi-Fi password becomes child’s play

In current versions of Android, users can share their Wi-Fi password by creating a QR code or view the password in clear text after entering their PIN/password or confirming their data biometrics. But, Google has made a change that will make this process even easier.

In addition to adding a new “Private Space” feature to the next Android 14 QPR2 update, which is currently in its second beta, Google is also increasing the visibility of this feature by adding it. A “Share Wi-Fi” button right in Quick Settings.

Sharing Wi-Fi password gets even faster in Android 14

Currently, to share a Wi-Fi password you need to go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet and access the settings of your desired Wi-Fi network. Users then tap the “Share Network” button or choose to click “QR Code” to connect a second device even faster.

However, since these sharing options are buried in many menus, they may not be known to everyone. Now with the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 update, The new button appears when users tap the “Internet” tile in quick settings. When this button is pressed, users will be asked to enter their biometrics or PIN information. Once verified, they will seamlessly switch to the plain text QR code and password interface.

Transferring this function to the “Quick Settings” menu allows users to start the sharing process with a few clicks, without having to navigate multiple menus. Therefore, it is an excellent way to simplify Google’s operating system; Sometimes it can be complicated to fully master.
