Google Drive: No need to lose your files anymore with the latest update

Google has always strived to make its cloud storage solution easier to use, but at the same time and above all, it is faster. During updates, such as those that add support for keyboard shortcuts for navigation, Drive has become more complete and practical each time. However, one feature was still missing, even though it was integrated into Gmail over a year ago: improved search.

Indeed, in February 2022, Google released in beta a new set of filters that make it much easier to find a file or folder in Google Drive search. No news since then. According to the testimonies of several users, until this week when the Mountain View company began distribution for the general public.

Search improves significantly on Google Drive

Thus, these filters make it possible to search for files by their type, the users accessing them, and even by the date they were last modified. So it will be much easier for you to find a file that you forgot the name of or lost in the folders and subfolders that take up your storage space in the cloud.

However, note that at the time of writing these lines, we do not yet have access to this advanced search. So, as always, Google is likely to continue with a phased rollout and therefore we will have to wait a little longer to see the update arrive in our regions. This shouldn’t take more than a week or two.
