Completing the main quest and reaching the max has never been an end in itself in a Diablo, and it still won’t be in the fourth installment. In this video published by Blizzard, The studio explains to us what to do in the “endgame”.
Because yes, the real adventure will begin when you reach the maximum level in Diablo 4. To start, The paragon system will make a comeback. This is an additional level system that unlocks when the main quest is completed. As we see in the video, it will be possible to complete a very detailed skill tree to adapt your character to your playstyle. Paragon already exists in Diablo 3, but has been greatly improved here.
Diablo 4 will inspire you to play more
In the video, we meet the concept of boundary stone dungeon. When the end is reached, it will be possible to raise the world level, as in the previous chapters. Moreover, the game’s 120 dungeons Can be played in nightmare mode. They will be tougher and set additional goals. Random events will also make a place there. For example, one of them opens portals that spawn new monsters from other regions in addition to those already existing. Perfect for challengers.
The open world, which brings all players together, will benefit from this MMO aspect with various events. in certain places, waves of enemies will appear, world bosses and fights (hell waves). Another event this time focused on PVP: Fields of Hate. To purify the recovered broken pieces, you will need to enter an area where all other adventurers can kill you to steal your loot. A system somewhat reminiscent of The Division’s Darkzone and promising stressful fights.
All this is just the content planned at launch. Blizzard indeed states that regular updates will be added. The stated purpose is clear: Making Diablo 4 a long-running game, where you return regularly to see what’s new. As a reminder, Diablo 4 will be released on June 6 on subsequent PCs and consoles (except Switch).
