You can also call the phone or change its password remotely.
Android Device Manager is now available
What you need to do to take advantage of these features Go to Android Device Manager website and acknowledge that Google has access to your location data (as if that wasn’t the case anyway…). If you want to use the service, of course, you must answer yes. The second step is to pick up your phone and go to: Check Settings > Security > Device Manager > “Android Device Manager”.
Not all Android smartphones are compatible with this option yet, so feel free to give us feedback in the comments specifying the device you have and its compatibility with Android Device Manager.
[Fin de mise à jour]
A week ago, we introduced you to a way to find your lost or stolen device with Where’s My Droid.
The news we’re going to announce to you today should make you even more happy because it’s about Google company, which recently introduced a new search feature. Lost or stolen Android devices with Android Device Manager.
Android Device Manager, find your lost or stolen device
Mountain View company has just introduced its Android Device Manager service, which will offer various functions.
Concisely, this service will have the following options :
- Find and play your device : You can call your phone which will switch to maximum volume and ring mode. If it’s not out of your reach, it can be found on a map in real time.
- Protect your personal data : imagine your device fell into the hands of a thief, you can quickly (note: and probably faster than your carrier) delete all the data stored on the device.
Google tells us this for devices running Android 2.2 and higher.
Of course, you will need a Google account to take advantage of these functions and we have been informed that an application will also be offered. to better manage all your smartphones and tablets. What’s more? We also offer you a short tutorial on how to get your IMEI code.
