PopCorn Time recently landed on Android. The famous and controversial completely free video-on-demand service is being updated and now offers an offline mode that will delight users on the go.
As a reminder, PopCorn Time is one of a kind video-on-demand service Netflix is available on PC, MAC, iOS and Android. From this platform, it is possible to watch an unlimited number of movies and series completely free of charge.
It is this last point that is controversial because PopCorn Time relies on torrent files and is related to an illegal service. Still, it found its audience, and the developers came up with the idea: present all content in offline mode.
High-definition videos on the go consume a lot of data in user packs as it is relatively easy to stream from home.
The PopCorn Time update for Android will therefore allow you to: take advantage of the service catalog without consuming data. A solution that will certainly be welcomed with open arms by anyone who is often on the go. Besides this offline mode, the new version of PopCorn Time for Android also fixes some bugs related to the stability of the app.
How to proceed? Actually it will be enough Download your pre-selected movie via your internet connection at home. Then you can watch it offline whenever you want.
For this reason, it will be sufficient to connect to PopCorn Time Android, select the movie or series you want to watch later, and click the “Download” button on the video card to download the video in question. When you want to watch the movie or series, just go to the “Download” section of the app to enjoy it offline.
As we said recently, PopCorn Time is currently available in beta. To get the new version 2.4, which is still in beta, you must follow these instructions:
- Allow unknown sources. To do this, you need to go to Settings > Security and then check Unknown sources. Confirm the displayed window.
- from your Android device, Go to this link to download PopCorn Time.
- Use a file explorer (download one such as I/O Explorer built into your phone or from the Play Store) to navigate to your device’s downloads.
- Tap on popcorntime.apk to start its installation.
