Samsung Flow: instant sync between smartphone, tablet and computer

Samsung has just introduced Flow, a solution to instantly sync all its terminals, i.e. start a transaction on one and resume it on the other immediately.

Our smartphones, tablets and computers share the same features. Interactive media allows us to manage our productivity, write emails, watch videos and pictures, all of which. Another important common point of these different machines is their ability to connect to the internet.

Second, it allows all these devices to access the same resources and from the cloud, easily centralizing our various documents, contacts, and calendar without having to think about it.

But what was already satisfying is still missing in Samsung’s eyes. While preparing his Galaxy S6, Korean decided to strengthen the interest of his ecosystemand presented a solution called Flow at the developer conference yesterday. A system that makes interactions between our different terminals even easier.

The principle is to be able instantly switch between devices during a certain task, for example, to use the most convenient machine, or because you have to leave your home and switch to your smartphone, and vice versa.

Samsung introduces Flow in three main areas: transfer, postponement and notification (Transfer, Postpone and Notify). Transfer makes it possible to instantly resume an open document, video, image or even a phone call from one device to another without any interruptions.

Snooze allows you to change an action over time, for example, by specifying that you resume the action later on your computer. Finally, notifications are available for any device connected to the Flow system, computer, tablet, smartphone, smartwatch or televisionView various notifications and other text messages.

Of course, the Flow SDK will allow developers to integrate the system into their applications, allowing any activity to be transferred between devices, reminding us of the recently introduced Baton de cyanogen and Nextbit.

Finally, we cannot ignore the similarity with the Continuity function that appeared in Apple with iOS 8 and Yosemite, but at the moment Flow seems to offer more flexibility. Both systems are clearly taking their first steps, and the fluidity and connectivity between our different devices promises to be increasingly compatible.
