The LG G4 release date in the United States has been a complete mystery since April 28, when the device was first announced, but this afternoon, we may have gotten our first clue as to when carriers in the state will launch the LG G4.
Late last month, LG took the stage in New York and, after months of rumors, speculation and minor teasers, announced the completely redesigned LG G4. It went on sale in Korea the very next day, and all major US carriers confirmed that they will have it, but when is still an unanswered question.
T-Mobile and LG are working together on a promotion that will allow select customers to preview the all-new LG G4 ahead of its release date, and the @G4Preview Twitter account may have just announced the release date.
After unveiling the impressive new 5.5-inch LG G4 with a stunning 16-megapixel camera and six genuine leather backs for the building materials, all major carriers have confirmed that they will carry it. These are AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and even US Cellular. But since then all has remained silent.
T-Mobile, on the other hand, allows select users and potential buyers to try the phone about a month early. Over the past week users have picked up the smartphone, liked what LG has to offer, and have had it long before any real LG G4 release date.
According to the official T-Mobile @G4Preview Twitter accountThe LG G4 will be available in select T-Mobile stores from June 2nd. This is the first real release date we’ve seen and that post on Twitter quickly organized (and deleted), but we’ve managed to capture a screenshot before.
When asked about the LG G4 release date, the official T-Mobile preview account stated that June 2 is the phone’s in-store release date, but the same tweet now simply says “We haven’t heard an exact date yet” and states it will be on T-Mobile.com as soon as they do. . This was quickly edited and replaced the June 2 date they had accidentally announced.
At this point, we can’t 100% confirm that June 2 is a release date, but it was mentioned here and was removed very quickly. It’s also worth noting that this is only for T-Mobile, which has outstripped most carriers to launch flagship smartphones this year, so other carriers may have it at a later date.
T-Mobile launched the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 almost a week before every other carrier in the US, and we expect the same for the G4. With that in mind, the LG G4 release date appears to be around June 2 for T-Mobile and possibly around June 5-8 for all other carriers in the US. Of course, this is from a tweet, but more details will emerge soon.
As a reminder, the LG G4 comes with an impressive 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a powerful 6-core processor with a micro SD slot so users can expand the storage and run the latest versions by Google. Android 5.1 Lollipop software version.
The biggest additions this year are six premium handcrafted genuine leather backs in different colors, three regular plastic models, and of course the new f1.8 aperture 16-megapixel camera on the back promises to be the best camera on any smartphone to date.
It looks like we only have a few weeks before it hits the shelves, and if that’s the case, carriers should start making official announcements and accepting pre-orders in the near future. Stay tuned, we’ll be on the lookout for more details.
