Huawei Nexus 6 Video Leak Explains It All

We’ve been hearing rumors for months that Google will release two Nexus smartphones in 2015, and both have leaked on video in the past two days. Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) today seen in a lifelike look based on all the leaks we’ve heard so far from a very reliable source. This could be our first real look at the Huawei Nexus 6.

In recent years, Google has launched new smartphones with the next major version of Android towards the end of the year. Android 5.0 Lollipop and Nexus 6 were announced in late October and released in November. This year, it looks like we’ll be getting the all-new Nexus 5 and the Nexus 6 running Android 5.2 (Marshmallow).

this leaky @Onleaks has reportedly managed to get details on the exact size and dimensions of the new Nexus 5 and Nexus 6, based on information and schematics that manufacturers have sent to case makers. We have the photos and video shown here, along with anonymous sources confirming the design tips. These are nearly final dimensions and reportedly very accurate. However, they are rumored and they may be wrong, but they are probably true given its history, not to mention the textures, colors, materials and brands, all of which can change the design a bit.

We’ve been hearing for months that Google will tap into LG to make a 5.2-inch Nexus 5 with some great new features never seen before in a Nexus smartphone, and more rumors point to a second device made by Huawei. This will be a 5.7-inch Nexus 6 with an aluminum unibody, high-end specs, and a premium design that’s priced even higher than the 2015 LG Nexus 5. uSwitch and @Onleaks unveiled the Nexus 5 earlier this week and now the Huawei-made Nexus 6 late last night. Here are the latest specs based on leaks.

Based on today’s photos and videos, we see a Huawei Nexus 6 on the front with a very similar overall appearance to the 2015 Nexus 5. This is the slightly rounded edges and dual front-facing speakers. This is to make both look similar as they are part of the “Nexus family” with slightly different backs. Both phones feature dual front-facing speaker USB 3.0 Type-C connectors for faster charging, universal and reversible charging cables, faster data transfers, and more.

But the rest is completely different. The Nexus 5 is said to feature an aluminum ring around the entire device for durability and a premium feel, with the same soft-touch matte black finish we saw on LG’s Nexus 5 in 2013. Its price will reportedly be under $400.

The Huawei Nexus 6 is made of an all-aluminum unibody with some plastic cutouts that look a lot like the iPhone for improved WiFi and 4G LTE performance as metal doesn’t allow for the best connectivity. We see that the camera and dual flash have been moved to the top corner, much like an iPhone, and again the fingerprint scanner is on the back.

Personally, a fingerprint scanner on the front makes more sense. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is similar to the Note 5 and iPhone, but this makes this device look very similar to Apple’s latest model. Not to mention there isn’t enough space due to the dual front-facing speakers.

Again, the video and these renders are based on leaked information and schematics sent to the case manufacturers. So they must be very accurate. These are most likely what Google will announce in September or October, but it might be a little different from what we’re seeing here today. Several reports also suggest that the Huawei Nexus 6 may have a 5.5-inch display instead of 5.7-inch, but we’ll have to wait and see.

This week Google teases the upcoming Android M, they promised a release before the end of September and that also means new Nexus smartphones will come with it. Stay tuned for more details as there may be actual leaks from both of these phones in the next few days.
