Our colleagues at Android Police announced that Google has integrated Duo, its video conferencing system, into several Android apps: Phone, SMS and Contacts. This integration allows you to make video calls similar to FaceTime on iOS, for example in version 13 of the Pixel 2 Phone app: simply select this option during the call. This new feature was noticed by journalists on the site after the Pixel 2 presentation. The “Video call” button will only appear if your contact has Google Duo. This button is already in contacts in version 2.1 of Contacts, SMS (Android Messages 2.6+) and should appear in version 13 of Phone as we told you. Button calls in Visio are currently only tested on Pixel 2.
