Google announced that the distribution of the new Gmail interface continues all over the world. This means that the option to switch to the new interface will soon be available in your account – if not yet. We were able to make the change ourselves, so some users are already affected.
Gmail: how to test interface update immediately
You will find the procedure to follow below to take advantage of it. It will always be possible to revert to the old interface if you don’t like the new one in the end.
- Go to your Gmail inbox
- Click gear wheel top right
- choose Try the new Gmail
- Depending on your preferences, choose from three types of screens offered: Default, Normal, and Compact
- Good, you can now explore Gmail’s new interface
Google notes that some new functionality will still be unavailable before: “next weeks”. It is hoped that at least self-destructing emails will be available – although we tested it on several gmail accounts, we have not yet succeeded in activating the new interface. This will likely be possible in the next few hours. In addition to expiration emails, the new interface simplifies the daily use of the mailbox.
Downloading attachments becomes much easier, reminders make it easier to remember to reply to some important emails, and Gmail helps you better identify what might be spam and helps you unsubscribe from mailing lists with one click. What do you think about the new interface? Share your opinion in the comments to this article!
