Former Indian pacer Dodda Ganesh believes he will open KL Rahul He needs a rest as he is not in good contact at the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia. Despite performing well in practice matches, the Indian vice-captain failed to make any impact with his stick in official matches.
The former Karnataka cricketer took to Twitter to express his opinion on a series of poor performances by Rahul. Dodda thinks there’s no harm in resting an out-of-form player. He also said that insisting on that player would only damage his self-confidence, so the case should be managed better.
“When a player is completely out of order, it is better to give him a break. No harm. Many big hitters have experienced this. But the more you insist on poor form with the batsman, the greater the chance of losing confidence. You need to handle this well #KLRaul” was read.
Rahul’s poor form on the international track has been a concern for the Indian team. To combat the same, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar asked an influential figure in the Indian team to help Rahul.

Sunil Gavaskar asks Paddy Upton to help KL Rahul

Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar Given his quality and experience, he supported KL Rahul to secure his place in XI. Gavaskar believes the batting coach will guide him through his technical mistakes, mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton should step in to help the opener boost his confidence.
“We have Paddy Upton as the mental conditioning coach and if he has nothing to do with it. While the batting coach can tell him about his mistakes, there is a need for the mental conditioning coach to talk to the player and increase his confidence. He has to tell Rahul that he is talented and can make great runs.”said Gavaskar Sport Plug.

KL Rahul managed to score just 22 points in three games and looked completely different. This raised questions about his place on the team.
