Gmail now has a new offline mode, how to use it?

Using the service without an Internet connection naturally loses its relevance. However, you may need to use it to read an email or prepare a response to send when the link is available again. This is especially practical when using public transport and is not always available during the journey.

Gmail: an offline mode is coming, here’s how to use it

Offline mode is for use with Chrome 61 or later. It is worth noting that to take advantage of this, you must make use of the new Gmail interface. It’s not too complicated to activate,”Settings” and “Try the new version of Gmail». To enable offline mode, simply follow these few instructions :

  • Click “Settings”
  • Offline”
  • Click “Enable offline messaging»
  • You can edit sync and security settings

Gmail gives users the option to sync the latest emails from 7 to 90 days. By default, it is 30 days. Gmail’s new interface also tells you how much memory the service is using. Two security settings Disconnecting your Google account also gives you the option to delete or keep your data. You will also be able to send emails through this new offline mode. These will be separated as soon as the connection is established.
