There are countless options when it comes to buying a smartwatch, but something stylish and petite for women is hard to come by. The new Moto 360 2nd Gen has a smaller option for women, but today Huawei launched two new Android Wear smartwatches with women specifically in mind.
Running Google’s latest Android Wear software, the Huawei Smartwatch was launched earlier this year and is arguably one of the best smartwatches on the market. It has a great design, good style, a full round face and more, but it’s about to get even better with thin straps and Swarovski crystals.
Today at CES 2016, Huawei introduced two more versions of the Huawei Watch. Officially they will be called Huawei Watch “Elegant” and “Jewelry” and the last one includes some crystal and added flair for those who want a flashy watch. Here’s what we know so far.
Live at Las Vegas for CES 2016 Huawei announced both new watches, but didn’t have too many details to share at the show. What we do know, though, is that one of the sleekest and best-looking Android Wear smartwatches is now specifically aimed at women. Finally giving the ladies something worth buying, with the elegance and style to suit it, instead of looking like everything else.
The new Huawei Watch Elegant and Jewel are very similar to Huawei’s current Android Wear smartwatch, but are actually slightly larger. It’s 2mm larger and comes with a 1.4-inch display, which looks even better than before, but the rest of the watch makes it female-oriented.
Shown above are two of Huawei’s new Android Wear smartwatch options for women. The Elegant model on the left has the same general features and design as the original, but with a few key changes for the ladies. It has a beautiful gold body, thinner watch straps with a more feminine design and material, and even preloaded watch faces that aren’t as “nerdy” as most Android Wear watches available today.
Of course, as the name suggests, we actually have the new Huawei Watch Jewel with Jewels on the front bezel. That makes it one of the best looking Android Wear watches I’ve ever seen, but sadly it’s only for women. The front is encrusted with Swarovski crystals or Jewels for added style. It comes with the same gold case, 18mm lugs for the watch straps, but slim and stylish watch straps for women.
Huawei has some pretty weird names for these two new watches, but they look pretty darn good. It’s worth nothing that both watches come pre-loaded with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow version of Android Wear and 10 specially designed “feminine” watch faces. Rather than the typical watch faces found on all current watches and the regular Huawei Watch.
The current Huawei Watch retails for $349 and up and comes in a few different options for the band, and we expect something similar for these women’s models. Huawei has stated that they will launch in the first quarter of 2016, but there was no exact release date or pricing to be announced at this time. Stay tuned for more details.
