We recently announced that dark mode is coming soon on Google Phone. The new mod is available today at: update 26, distribution has already started. To take advantage of this right away, we recommend downloading and installing the APK instead (see the download link at the end of the article).
Google Phone 26 comes with dark mode, download APK and install
After Google Phone 26 is installed on your Android smartphone, you just need to activate the mod. To do this, simply go to the settings of the Phone app. Here is the full maneuver:
- Open Google Phone app
- Go to settings (3 dots at top right)
- Tap on Display Options
- Check Dark Mode
According to Google, dark mode first saves your smartphone’s battery. Google calculates that when Android Pie’s “Dark Mode” is enabled, it consumes 14% less energy even if your smartphone has an LCD screen and not an OLED screen.
Another advantage: dark mode, rest your eyesespecially if you check your smartphone screen in the middle of the night (we all lost a few hours of sleep because of our phone).
Recently, Google offers a dark mode in Google Contacts as well as the Google Maps app. Currently, the dark mode is especially popular among all developers. Dark mode is the only innovation offered by Google Phone 26.
