The Deathloop Fristad Rock bunker is locked tight and you’ll have to solve one of the hardest puzzles in the entire game to get inside, but it’s definitely worth the time and effort to infiltrate this Storm Shelter with a doorbell. Step inside and you’ll have access to the Intelligence Archives, which provide a wealth of information as well as various ancillaries, all of which will make it easy to manage your journeys through the loop. The area itself seems to be the game’s biggest secret, as it’s a room full of useful items that will help you finish Deathloop more easily, and it’s hidden behind a door that you can unlock from the very beginning.
However, it is a difficult puzzle that is not clear, so it’s easy to miss it until it’s too late and takes you the long way to discover some of its secrets. For example, I only solved it after I finished the story, leaving the gear, hints and Deathloop codes it provided useless. So don’t make my mistake – if you’re just starting out, be sure to open that door as soon as possible.
Frankly, if you really want to work things out for yourself, the information that has come out may contain some spoilers, so stop reading if that’s the case. That said, we’ll avoid anything too disastrous, and if you’re looking to find a bunch of important Deathloop tips, gear, hints, and codes right at the start of the game, read on.
Deathloop Fristad Rock bunker intelligence archives
You can find the Deathloop Fristad Rock shelter on the beach, on the left as you exit the tunnels. The door is hidden behind a piece of wood that you can break, and you will discover a doorbell that initially does nothing. However, just to be sure, give 20 or more rings, as this involves ringing the doorbells a certain number of times as part of the puzzle, and at this point, I don’t know if you can do this initially or if you need it. first to trigger subsequent events.
If the doorbell doesn’t work, come back when the tide is off in the afternoon or evening. Investigate the new lower shore area to find some pillars and a light near a crack in the rocks that will take you to Storm’s Refuge.
Once inside, you’ll find a door with three locks, an initial coded note, and a soldier’s voice diary. This diary will tell you that a message is hidden in the morning radio broadcast, so you will need to find one of the hackable radios you can use to distract you in the morning. For example, there is one in the Transmission Tower overlooking Fia’s hideout.
Hack the radio in the morning and you will hear a message like, but not exactly the same:
“M 13. Nine. H 26. Nine. R 33. 16”
The coordinates will be the same as they refer to map locations, but odd numbers without letters will be different for you, as they represent how many times you have to ring the bell to open the corresponding door.
M13 – Karl’s Bay location
Coordinate M13 refers to the map of Karl’s Bay and takes you to a warehouse near the Ice Treasure exhibit. Press the doorbell the same number of times as in the message and the door will open to access the Dusty Warehouse.
Inside you’ll find an Announcer that will disable any security systems you fire near it, some information about a lookout point on the hangers (this implies a panel you can smash during the evening game of Fathoms of Lament), and one of the codes from the Fristad Rock Intelligence Archives.
H26 – Updaam location
Coordinate H26 takes you to a building next to Otto’s Firework Shop in Updaam. Look for the door to the building on Otto’s left and go up the stairs inside. You will find an apartment door with a doorbell. Play the number of times specified in the message and you will enter.
Once there, you’ll find a Volpat Trencher shotgun that will do more damage while in the air, another Fristad bunker code, a note (one of the ways to describe it) and a note about Aleksis from Deathloop Visionaries loves chocolate beer. About 2-Bit, Charlie’s computer is a potentially useful one.
Opening the door to the Fristad Bunker Intelligence agency
Once you have all three codes you will be able to open the door inside the Fristad Rock storm shelter. Inside you’ll find lots of information about Colt’s past and his Two Tribunal pistols – one that tags enemies and the other that deals more damage with tagged enemies. However, the real value of what is found here is more information. If you access it in the beginning, you’ll uncover loads of useful details that could save you hours trying to figure it out for yourself. The information it contains is:
- Delivery cabinet codes for access to on-demand delivery of cranks, batteries, turrets and free space generators.
- Maintenance tunnel code so you can go from hangar 1 to hangar 2 and sneak into Harriet in Karl’s Bay (Trinket if you’re gas-immune).
- Knowledge of Egor’s Aether plate allowing you to bypass security systems such as turrets and cameras.
- What wires do you need to cut to disable Fia’s reactor?
- Code of Ramblin Frank’s security system and how to access the security panel.
All of this may not sound like much, but some of the things you can find here can only be explored otherwise by playing for hours. For example, discovering Alexis like a chocolate beer – one possible way to describe her – could mean sneaking into her tightly guarded party and exploring in a particular room until you find someone talking about her. The notes and information here cover codes, routes, and options that may take a long time to find while playing games. Finding so many things so quickly is an incredible secret for the game to keep in sight.
