WhatsApp now lets you control who can add you to a chat group, our colleagues VentureBeat. Some unknown users are not afraid to include you in groups to spread a message or promote any offer, which can quickly become annoying.
WhatsApp finally lets you choose who can add you to a group: Download APK of the latest version
through the app, You can choose from 3 different settings : Nobody (No Internet users can add you to a group), My Contacts (only contacts on your smartphone are authorized to add you to a group), or Everyone. In the latter case, anyone can include you in a group. To choose who can add you to a group, do the following:
- Open WhatsApp and go to Settings
- Then go to Accounts and then Privacy
- Choose your preferred setting in Groups: Nobody, My Contacts or Everyone
The Facebook subsidiary said that this new update has rolled out worldwide and will be available everywhere in the coming weeks. We recommend installing the latest version of WhatsApp via Google Play Store or APK Mirror to take advantage of it as soon as it is released.
