Rumors and leaks continue to emerge, and now we have concept photos and videos that bring those rumors to life. Here’s what we know about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8.
Last week, the first wave of potentially accurate photos surfaced. Cases from popular manufacturers have almost confirmed the Galaxy S8 design and massive new display. But these are still based on rumors, so we’ll have to wait and see.
From what we heard, Samsung will present two beautiful smartphones that will surprise potential buyers. Like the first iPhone with a fingerprint scanner, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have huge screens with a fingerprint sensor built into the glass. Offer a stylish and eye-catching design. We’ve been hearing rumors for months that Samsung wants a bigger screen for these phones. It’s the natural evolution of their design, but also because millions of Galaxy Note 7 fans have to return their big-screen devices.
Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have huge screens of 5.7 inches and 6.2 inches. leaks, reports, rumors and more. Here’s the best part, potential buyers will get a big screen without having to use a bigger device. In fact, the Galaxy S8 may have a large 5.7-inch display similar to the Galaxy Note 7 while being slightly smaller than the Galaxy S7. It’s really impressive.
Samsung is probably using next generation AMOLED displays with curved edges and extremely small bezels. The result is more screen and less plastic or metal on the front. If everything we hear and see is true, there will no longer be a home button. Instead, the Galaxy S8 will unlock, almost like magic, by holding your finger on the glass. Surely it will excite many buyers, similar to the first iPhone with TouchID. This leak also states that Samsung’s new phones will have stereo speakers. One is at the bottom right and the other is at the top left as shown above. For better sound no matter how the phone is held.

Bigger Screen, Smaller Body
A large part of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be giant screens. Rumors suggest that Samsung has managed to shrink the bezels by an incredible amount. Combine that with no need for a physical home button and we have the largest screen on any Galaxy S device without physically making the phone bigger.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7, according to leaks
This puts the new Galaxy S8 against the Galaxy S7. The screen has been upgraded from 5.1 inches to 5.7 inches while the phone is actually slightly smaller overall. Something millions of users will love. Not everyone wants a big phone. Now you can have a big screen while enjoying a portable and pocketable device.
If true, the Galaxy S8 will be slightly shorter, wider and thinner, with high-end specs and a larger screen. But the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus will be nearly the same size as the current Galaxy S7 Edge. At least according to reports and leaked plans.

At this point, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of specs and design, but nothing is official until Samsung confirms it. That said, here are the latest Galaxy S8 specs, according to the rumor mill.
It sounds very appealing, and if everything turns out right, Samsung could have a winner. Then again, these are just leaks, so potential buyers should lower expectations and wait for more information.
In closing, we hear the Galaxy S8 may arrive later in 2017 than any year ago. The company is working hard to deliver these beautiful new designs while also improving security and controls. The latest news suggests it will launch in late March or early April, with an April release date. For comparison, the Galaxy S7 was announced in February and launched on March 11. Buyers may wait more than a month in 2017, but the wait will be worth it.
