After months of leaks and rumors, the Galaxy S8 and larger Galaxy S8+ were officially announced on March 29. The release date is April 21, and as we speak, pre-orders are available. Here we will compare both and detail what’s new and what they offer.
Samsung’s devices in 2016 are still great phones, but a next-gen Galaxy is here. These are much larger screens, small bezels and what is called Infinity Display. Samsung has truly taken design to new heights and presented what could be the best phone of the year.
In 2016, Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and a larger curved Galaxy S7 Edge. They have a premium metal design, water resistance, microSD slot and one of the best cameras on any smartphone. We build on the success of the Galaxy S6 as it builds on key areas.
For this year, they’ve followed a similar path of success while developing across the board. Samsung loved the design and made the phones much bigger. In fact, the Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch display while the S8+ is 6.2 inches. The front is almost all screen, but the phones aren’t much bigger physically. Impressive, really. Pair that with major upgrades and the Galaxy S8 looks like a great buy.
