The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update was spotted again before its official release for the S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8 Active.
As we dive deeper into the year, we’re starting to see more action from Samsung. The company still isn’t talking about Android 8.0 Oreo, but rumors, reports and benchmarks are starting to outline its plans ahead of schedule.
Samsung’s Galaxy S8 model is at the top of these rumors. Samsung is said to be in the process of developing Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It is also said to be preparing a beta program that will allow Galaxy S8 users to test the software before its official release.
The Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update was also shown in the tests, and today the Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo update appeared.

widely shared Post on Samsung community forums, an executive claims that the Galaxy S7 will get Samsung Experience UI (formerly TouchWiz) on the way. The executive says the UI will only be available in the “next update” for the Galaxy S7, which may be Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge started on Android Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI before Samsung released Android 7.0 Nougat and a newer version of the user interface.
Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 Android Oreo updates, but we expect the two flagships to be among the first to receive an upgrade from Android Nougat. The new Galaxy Note 8 should also be near the front of the line.
Samsung is also shipping Android Oreo to Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017), Galaxy Note 7 FE and Galaxy Tab S3 Waiting. All devices less than two years old must be upgraded to Android 8.0.
Devices outside of this range, such as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5, are in danger of missing the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade.
For now, Samsung seems to be focused on delivering bug fixes and Android 7.1.1 Nougat updates to those who stay on Android Marshmallow.
The company recently released Android 7.1.1 and the firmware is rolling out to two Galaxy Tab tablets, Galaxy Tab A 9.7 (in Europe) and Galaxy Tab E (in the United States).
