Google Photos rolls out Info menu redesign, download APK

Google Photos for Android is rolling out a redesign of the Info menu, which gives you access to additional information about images in your library and lets you perform actions like sharing or creating a slideshow. The red thread of this redesign is to make the interface clearer and more practical.

The screen for viewing photos remains the same – but tapping the top right button brings up the Info screen instead of a long menu. A series of actions such as Add to Album, Archive, Delete, Sort Photo, Use As, Slideshow, and Print are at the top of this Info panel. Then a map showing the date and time, description and where the photo was taken, followed by GPS coordinates.

Below this section is a Details section where the EXIF data of the image is grouped. These changes have been announced since September, but now appear to be more widely implemented.

While some people claimed that the change only appeared in version 4.30, few users noticed the menu design change in version 4.29. This indicates a change on the server side.

However, it is recommended that you check if you are running the latest version of Google Photos to take advantage of the functionality as quickly as possible. To do this, you can go directly to the Play Store via the link below:
