If you were expecting a surprise Samsung Galaxy Android Oreo release date in 2017, you should start raising your expectations right now.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update continues to make progress before its official release in the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea and other countries around the world. Samsung’s army of beta testers is currently running the third Galaxy S8 Oreo beta.
According to a Samsung representative, the third Android 8.0 Oreo beta of the Galaxy S8 won’t be the final test release as the company reportedly wants to release the fourth and perhaps final Galaxy S8 Oreo beta before the new year.
Samsung-based blog SamMobile recently watched A comment from a company representative on the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta forums.
Samsung’s UK beta team claims that a fourth Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta will be released “very, very soon”, with a notification about the beta coming in the near future.
The team hasn’t set a specific date, but it could arrive as soon as tomorrow. A Samsung representative made a similar comment about the third Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta, and it arrived the very next day.
The representative also talks about a possible Android Oreo release date and is in line with the timing Samsung Turkey released earlier this year.
If all goes well, it looks like the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update release date will arrive at the end of January or early February in case of further issues. Samsung Turkey claimed that the first wave of Galaxy Android 8.0 Oreo updates will arrive in early 2018.
This seems to rule out a Galaxy S8 Android Oreo release date in 2017, and that means Galaxy S8 users may have to wait until after the holidays to have an official version of Android 8.0.
The information comes just days after Samsung accidentally confirmed an additional Galaxy Android Oreo update.
The company has yet to release an official list of devices receiving the upgrade, but the Galaxy Note 8 Android 8.0 Oreo update has now been confirmed thanks to a firmware leak in the United States.
The leak isn’t the final version of the Galaxy Note 8’s Android Oreo update, but its presence means the company is making progress in testing behind the scenes.
Samsung is said to be planning multiple Android Oreo updates, including upgrades for the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7 FE.
An unofficial list of Galaxy Oreo updates suggests that the company will also roll out Android 8.0 to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5.
As Samsung’s beta team starts chirping, it should be a matter of time before Samsung elaborates on its Android 8.0 Oreo plans.
