Rishabh Pant smashed a fast 111 ball 146 runs in Edgbaston on Friday 1 July in the rescheduled fifth Test against England, leaving the cricket fraternity in awe. His batting helped the India team revive their innings as they struggled at 98/5. Along with Ravindra Jadeja, he took the field with 222 runs and helped India score over 300 at the end of Day 1.

Collingwood says Bazball will make Test cricket interesting
“Pant came out to play a bit of Bazball (compare England Test head coach Brendon McCullum), everybody sticks to that. When there is some moisture on the early field you have a chance to get small goals early as we did. We go against the essence of much of the cricket played in the last 100 years… We try to play as positive as possible and play cricket fun. I (Stokes) won’t take a step back,” Collingwood said.
He also believes that Pant’s Bazball kicks show that Test cricket is changing rapidly and that Bazball will make it more interesting.
“(McCullum) said from the beginning it was about the big picture of Test cricket and that for it to survive, we needed to make it a lot more fun, and today’s cricket was fun. There were wickets, there were runs, there were great hunts. When you’re watching someone as entertaining as Pant, you should applaud a hit like that,” Collingwood added.
