Two months after the distribution of Chrome 80, Google brought Chrome 81 online. Following the containment measures against the coronavirus, the Mountain View firm was forced to suspend updates to its web browser while its developer teams organized. Google teams finally Returned to work at the end of March. Google delayed the release of Chrome 81 for a few days to catch up and decided to skip Chrome 82.
Google fixed 32 vulnerabilities with Chrome 81
Given the delay, Google has focused on fixing the vulnerabilities. It fixes the American firm with version 81 32 flaws detected in web browser. Google detected three critical flawsespecially in terms of extensions and sound.
This new iteration therefore brings only a few minor innovations. For example, Chrome now supports the NFC Web API. Obviously, a web page Reading and writing NFC tags. This functionality promises to be particularly useful in certain specific areas, such as business (with better management of security badges) and museums. A person browsing an exhibition can get information about the exhibited works by reading the NFC badge using Chrome. No need to go through a dedicated NFC app.
Chrome 81 also marks the arrival of a feature called “app icon badges”. This option allows websites to secretly transmit information to Internet users without interrupting their activities. This is especially useful for chat and messaging platforms. Thanks to this innovation, Notifications from Messenger, Facebook or Twitter will be less intrusive. The alert will only appear in a hidden badge on that tab.
