Minnesota Timberwolves star Patrick Beverley went on a spree to shoot staff involved after receiving some negative backlash for his comments about Chris Paul. Philadelphia 76ers guard Danny Green also started trolling it sarcastically.
After being shown the exit gate in the first playoff round, Patrick Beverley became a common face on various talk shows where he featured the Suns vs. Mavs match. On the same note, he made harsh comments about his defense against 11-time All-star Chris Paul and Luka Doncic. Many players reacted negatively to their comments and felt that there was no need for such hurtful words against the future Hall of Famer. Even Danny was in line with Beverley and challenged his credibility in defense against Luka Doncic and in defense in general. Patrick found evidence to support himself and dispels all doubts about his abilities.
Patrick was the target of many players, but was offended by Green’s comment. Now that Patrick has answered Danny Green’s questions, he can go up against any player who throws a disc at Pat.
War of Words between Patrick Beverley and Danny Green
The episode began with Beverley calling Chris Paul weak on defense and even calling him a cone to practice. The comments were harsh, especially about a player who lost in the Conference Semi-Finals and saw his chance to win the 1st title after having a very illustrious career. Current and former players felt the pain and supported Chris as he warned Pat to “cross the line.”

On a different show, Danny Green opened up about his feelings and went a little too far to challenge Beverley to reveal his credentials as a defender. Green also praised Luka Doncic’s offensive skills and asked Beverley about his one-on-one record against the Dallas Mavericks.
Green I said“People are targeting you too, Pat Bev. You don’t play f-king defense there,” He added even more. “You can’t stop Luke [Doncic]. I see Luke calling your ass ‘little man’ and ‘he’s so-little-little’ over and over and attacking you at every opportunity. When you play Luka, you are a cone too. How would you like this? Put this there and I’ll say it twice”
Statistically, Paul was 7th all defensive 1st teams, and Beverley, who usually came out of the bench, was a member of only 1 such team. There is also a big difference between the achievements of 37-year-old Chris Paul and 33-year-old Patrick Beverley. NBA’s 75th anniversary team.
Therefore, Beverley’s soft and loose comments on Chris could be considered “a little too harsh”. While Pat did not respond to his comments, he did respond to Danny Green with strong stats against Luka Doncic and also in the NBA.
Beverley underlined ESPN stats showing it as 2nd currently the best defender in the league, just behind Giannis Antetokounmpo. He also answered Danny’s question about Pat’s record against Luka Doncic – where Doncic failed to score in 28 positions defended by Beverley. Pat tagged Danny Green on the tweet so he can go over it.
Neither Green nor Paul has reacted to this, but the topic is being kept alive and Patrick Beverley’s “never quit” stance is heating up even more as another actor may face further negativity by reacting negatively to his comments.
