Samsung forces old Galaxy Watches to abandon Android for Tizen

As you know, Samsung has officially announced that WearOS will replace Tizen OS on its smartwatches. South Korean firm joins forces with Google to develop a new version of WearOS that is better optimized and therefore capable to offer better autonomy and higher performance.

And remember, in 2014 the opposite was happening. Samsung has turned its back on Google by issuing an update to the Galaxy Gear to remove Android in favor of the company’s home operating system, Tizen OS. So let’s get back to basics for world number one in 2021. However, can you imagine that many Galaxy Gear users frankly never went into this and still use Android? Seven years after the transition to Tizen OS.

Indeed, Samsung sent a message to its loyal Android to let them know. End of Galaxy Store software tracking in Google’s operating system from August 5, 2021. In fact, if they want to continue using the app store, Samsung will offer these Galaxy Gear owners. The latest version of Tizen OS.

Qualcomm has announced that WearOS 3 will be compatible with the latest connected watches. The good news at first glance is that some manufacturers are not very keen on rolling out an update for WearOS on their devices, except that the founder is clearly a little excited.
