Realme 2 Pro (starter Rs. 13,990) is the latest offering in Realme’s smartphone lineup, and the company has put a significant amount of effort into marketing the Realme 2 Pro as a competent smartphone that can justify the ‘Pro’ suffix. The Realme 2 Pro packs the Snapdragon 660 SoC with 8 gigs of RAM, some solid specs for a budget smartphone these days, and it doesn’t disappoint.

The Snapdragon 660 powers the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Vivo V11 Pro, both of which excel in the performance parameter, but has Realme done a commendable job optimizing the rendering sound of the Snapdragon 660 with ColorOS 5.2? Realme 2 Pro Comparisons

We launched the benchmark test of the Realme 2 Pro with AnTuTu and the device did not disappoint, scoring an impressive 133324 points, which is in line with other devices packing the same Snapdragon 660 SoC. Gaming Performance

When it comes to real-life performance, the Realme 2 Pro performs pretty well. We put the Realme 2 Pro in a series of games From light games like Angry Birds, 8 Ball Pool, and Subway Surfer to graphics-intensive games like PUBG, Asphalt 9: Legends, Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat X.

While Realme 2 Pro outperformed low-end games, gaming performance was surprisingly good, providing a lag-free experience at default graphics settings.

However, in some games, setting the graphics settings to the maximum allowed was causing occasional stuttering and occasional lag. However, for high-end mobile gaming built for flagship chipsets, the mid-range Snapdragon 660 can only serve you long enough. Here is the success of Realme 2 Pro in gaming:

I started my game review of Realme 2 Pro with PUBG and simply put, the gameplay was above average. The Battle Royale game was on the default graphics setting on first launch, and after completing a few matches, I noticed no lag, frame drops or stuttering.

What amazes me is that even after setting ‘Realistic’ visual with graphics setting HD and frame rate set to ‘High’, the game never lags. Realme 2 Pro has handled one of the toughest games like a champ, and that’s commendable.

The next game I tried was ‘Injustice 2’ and truth be told, I was once again surprised at how well the fighting game played on the Realme 2 Pro. The device rendered the animations seamlessly, and the cinematic visuals between fights seamlessly returned to the battle.

In the case of Asphalt 9: Legends, There was some stuttering and noticeable frame dropespecially when driving super cars at high speed and making sharp turns and also doing stunts.

I’ve saved the best for the latest Mortal Kombat X, one of the most visually pleasing and resource-intensive games. Gameplay was fluid, but what bothered me the most was the stretching of the game’s native aspect ratio to fill the Realme 2 Pro’s tall 19:9 screen.

Realme 2 Pro offers a native full-screen mode for gaming and media consumption, which evenly covers the area adjacent to the teardrop notch with a bar for a uniform look. But there was an anomaly. In the case of PUBG, when fullscreen mode was not enabled, the notch occupied half of the shoot button, but when I applied the fullscreen mode, the problem was resolved.

Another troublesome point was the curved bottom bezel, which covered some UI elements while playing games. In the case of PUBG, for example, the round bottom bezel took up a significant portion of the ‘X’ button used to return to the previous screen, and as a result it was a minor hassle to fully tap it each time.

When it comes to heating, the Realme 2 Pro sits on the warmer side of the scale. While sitting idle, the Realme 2 Pro’s average temperature measured around 28 degrees Celsius, but after a gaming session lasting around 120 minutes, the temperature rose to 39 degrees Celsius, a 10-degree rise over thermal. scale.

While the device definitely got hot, it didn’t get uncomfortably hot. Interestingly, when the protective cover was applied, the temperature rose only around 4 degrees, and the higher temperature had minimal or no effect on the experience at hand.
