Nintendo Switch screenshots are like time capsules: a screenshot can take minutes to share with others. They also serve as proof of your most successful multiplayer moments in single player and multiplayer games.

Nintendo has made it super easy to capture and share these images. A button on your Joy-Con lets you quickly take pictures of what’s on your screen. Posting these pictures to Twitter and Facebook without installing any extra apps or software on your console makes it easy to share them.

Capturing Nintendo Switch Screenshots

Your Nintendo Switch has multiple game modes and sharing works in all of them.

Handheld Mode is when you place the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons next to your controller. Press the square button with a circle on your remote to take a screenshot.

With your console docked and Joy-Cons connected to the Joy-Con Grip, use the same button to capture Nintendo Switch screenshots. If you use the TV Mod a lot, you can have the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. It has the same capture button just above the directional pad.

When you capture an image for later use, a message appears in the corner of your screen. Screenshots work inside games and inside some console menus. Don’t hold down the button for too long in your games, or you may take a video instead of a picture. Nintendo Switch Screenshots Installation

You need a Twitter Account and internet access to share Nintendo Switch screenshots. Start by making sure these things are in place.

Next to the battery icon in the upper right corner of your screen is the Wi-Fi icon. A black Wi-Fi icon means you have internet access. If this icon is grayed out, you don’t have an internet connection. Go to the app by tapping or clicking along the bottom of your screen.

Select from the list on the left side of the settings fields. Use the onscreen commands to connect your Nintendo Switch to a Wi-Fi network.

Now it’s time to add your Twitter and Facebook accounts. To do this, return to the Nintendo Switch Home screen by pressing the Home button. Double-tap the corner of your screen or make your selection.

Inside the app, double-tap on the menu on the left side of your screen. It’s at the bottom of the list.

Now that you have all accounts and settings open your game.

Use the Joy-Con on the left to capture a snapshot of what’s on your screen.

Now press the button on the right Joy-Con.

Choose from the menu at the bottom of your screen.

Wait for all your in-game footage to load. Now select a screenshot you want to share.
