5 Things Pixel Buds 2 Need to Beat AirPods

A few years ago, Google got everyone excited. Pixel Buds. Unfortunately, they never lived up to the hype. This year, if Google is willing to give Apple’s AirPods their money, we should see some serious changes. With that in mind, here we will review five things we want from the Pixel Buds 2.

Android users have several excellent wireless earbuds to choose from in 2019, including the AirPods 2. That said, we think you should wait for the Pixel Buds 2.

Google’s new Pixel 4 is almost here, and many believe a new headset will be announced on October 15th. Hopefully this time they have a premium design, a truly wireless design, and a better chassis. These are just a few of the many things Google needs to change if they want to compete with Apple. In fact, here are five things we’d like to see from the Pixel Buds 2.

Totally Wireless Pixel Buds 2

If Google’s new Pixel Buds 2 want to compete with, or possibly surpass, Apple’s Airpods, they need to make them completely wireless. And to be honest, they have to be at this point.

The current Pixel Buds have a cable that connects the two and wraps around the back of your neck. This style is not new and last year wasn’t enough to win the hearts of buyers this year and it won’t be in 2020 either. This is the second year in a row we’re expecting Pixel Buds, but they might arrive on October 15th and they’ll be 100% wireless.

Alongside the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and second-gen Pixel Buds, a reliable source tells me with high confidence that Google’s fall hardware event will introduce a Pixel-branded watch. Have a great summer!

For whatever reason, only original Buds he looked wireless. The Bluetooth chip, battery, microphone, and more were all in the bud, but Google still tied them together with a cable. Most manufacturers put all this in the cord to keep the buds small, portable and convenient. We’re not sure what happened on Google’s first try, but they need to drain the wires.

Pixel Buds 2, AirPods, AirPods 2 and wireless charging case should compete with Samsung Galaxy Buds, Bose, Jabra, Jaybird wireless buds and many other alternatives on the market.

Better Sound and Features

If there’s one thing the original Pixel Buds have for them, it’s pressed. This is all about bass. They have a pretty impressive bass-heavy sound for how small they are. However, this is not for everyone. What about the rest of the sound? Good, or what many would consider average.

Count me in if we can get a little better mid, high, or even slightly improved sharpness when making the second-gen buds go wireless. The Google Home Max has impressive sound, not to mention the sound-enhancing and learning technology. surroundings.

Google should improve sound, use some technology to let Pixel Buds 2 learn by users’ ears, and make better use of Google Assistant. And from what we’ve seen from the Pixel 4 leaks so far, Google will be getting a plethora of new Assistant features this year. And don’t get me started on basics like pausing music when a user takes the earbuds out, easy forward/backward controls, and other things the competition already has.

Improved Small Design

My two biggest complaints about the Pixel Buds were the large size and how well they fit my ears. I have smaller ears than most people, so it’s not entirely Google’s fault, but I’m not the only one saying this. Also, the same two complaints were heard loud and clear on the web. The buds were very large and very uncomfortable.

Google needs to cut things down a lot and improve the design. We know it’s hard to get all that electronics into something tiny that goes inside your ear, but Apple has done it, and no-name brands do. We don’t want Q-tips to come out of our ears, but Google needs to come up with a better, smaller, sleeker design.

A Slim Case (Wireless Charged)

For a 1st generation product, the Pixel Buds were okay, but they weren’t great either. A big part of the experience is the case that charges the headphones. Google offered a nice little fabric cover for their earphones, but we want better.

If Google wants to compete with Apple’s Airpods, it should pack the case thin, portable, pack a big battery, and even offer wireless charging. And hey, they’ll even let us wirelessly charge the earphones from the back of the Pixel 4, perhaps similar to Samsung’s reverse power sharing feature.

Please do something similar to Google. It will go great with the Pixel 4 XL, be great with rivals, and play well with the Pixel Stand.

Longer Battery Life

Finally, Google’s Pixel Buds 2 should have the best battery life on the market. Most wireless earphones last 3-4 hours maximum. Apple’s AirPods boosted that to 5 hours of playtime, setting a new industry standard for what customers have come to expect from wireless earbuds. Mostly.

Basically, Google’s new truly wireless Pixel Buds 2 should offer 6+ hours or more of battery life and pack plenty of juice in the charging case. The originals claimed 5 hours, but ours never took that long.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a few things Google can do to make its next headset better than ever. These five will make them worth buying and an alternative to the competition. Expect some clean new AI features, Google Assistant commands, more routine and a sleek design.

That said, Google can always surprise us and make tons of changes that make these the best wireless earbuds of the year. We’ll have to wait and see.
