As Google Maps continues to evolve, it lets you add a marker for your home and work location. So, if you want to mark more important places, Google Maps allows you to add multiple labels or markers. It’s pretty easy to place these additional tags or markers on Google Maps.
Adding tags to Google Maps has two advantages. First, you can easily find that place again in Maps instead of typing its name to search for it. You also get a rough estimate of the time and traffic before you set off, even if you know the route.
Adding multiple markers to Google Maps is pretty easy, whether on your Android smartphone (or iPhone) or PC.
Let’s see how to add multiple places in Google Maps.
How to Add Multiple Labels in Google Maps
You can try it on both platforms as Google Maps offers similar features in its iOS and Android app.
Stage 1: Open Maps and tap the Maps icon in the upper left corner.

If you already have tags for Work and Home, swipe right and tap More.
Step 2: Tap the Plus icon in the lower right corner to enter the address.

You can add the address directly or use the map to leave a label. The first is a better option, as it allows you to fine-tune the exact location.

What we usually do is enter the rough estimate and then further edit it on the map.
Stage 3: When you’re done with the location, tap OK to add the location to your list of saved tags.

Follow the steps above for all your favorite locations.
So the next time you tap on the search box, the saved tags will be found right next to Work and Home. Just swipe right to see them all.
You can remove a tag but cannot edit it from this page. At the same time, you cannot edit the location of the tags. They appear in alphabetical order after Home and Work.

The good thing is that you can also pin the location to start the driver right away (or have a preview).
Tap to open a label and swipe up on the details card to pin the location. Now, tap on the Pin option.

Open the pinned location, open the Go tab in your Maps app, and swipe up on the Details card. All pinned locations will be displayed immediately. All you have to do is tap Start to start the journey.
Tags are marked private and no one else can access them.
How to Rename Tags in Google Maps
As noted earlier, you cannot edit a tag directly from the Add Tag page. The option to do this is somewhat hidden.
Stage 1: Go to the Saved tab in Google Maps. If you’ve saved them fairly recently, those tags will appear just above.

step 2: Click on the label to bring up the detail card. Here, tap on Edit Label to change the name.

How to Add Multiple Labels in Google Maps for PC
Adding tags to the web version of Google Maps is simple and easy compared to the app.
Stage 1: Search for a place on Google Maps. Click on the location to bring up the details in the left panel.
step 2: Scroll down on the panel and click Add Label.

Name the tag and that’s it!
Naturally, new stickers will appear on both your phone and PC. To view all tags on PC, click the hamburger menu in the upper left corner and select Your Places.
Bonus Tip: Add a Parking Lot
This is one of our favorite features on Google Maps. The wise thing to do is to use it to temporarily save the location of any place.
However, it only works for existing locations.
Stage 1: Open Maps on your phone and tap the Current location icon on the right.
step 2: Tap the Blue dot which will bring up the Blue dot menu. Tap on Set as parking and that’s it.

Google Maps saves that location until you remove it manually or after a certain amount of time. Google Maps saves for about 8 hours.
Also, you can save only one parking space at a time.
To access a parked location, tap the P icon in Maps, then tap Direction or Start.

To clear a parked location, open the details card and select Clear.
Make Your Journey Easier
This is how you could add tags to Google Maps. As stated earlier, these are private lists, meaning you cannot share them. To make a list shareable, save it in a list other than Tagged.
