Change Navigation Voice on Google Maps for Android Via App
Google uses the language settings and voice engine to provide voice directions; which requires users to start the map to change the sound. Here’s how it works.
Stage 1: Launch Google Maps by tapping the icon on your device.

Step 2: Tap the three lines in the upper left corner of the screen to open the menu.

Stage 3: Scroll through the menu and tap Settings.

Step 4: Scroll through the menu and tap Navigation settings.

Step 5: Within Navigation Settings, tap Voice Selection. The navigation sound currently in use should be at the top with a checkmark next to it.

Step 6: Scroll through the list and you should see all the available language options with their regional variations. Tap on your preferred language option.

Step 7: The setting should turn off after you select your preferred language option. Return to Map view in your Google Maps app.

Step 8: Tap Go at the bottom right of your screen.

There is an alternative way to change the navigation voice in Google Maps on Android. This method requires changing the language settings on your device. Here’s how to use this method:
Stage 1: Launch Settings on your phone.

Step 2: Scroll through the menu and select Languages and Input.

Stage 3: Select the text-to-speech output.

Step 4: Select the settings icon next to the Google Text-to-speech engine.

Step 5: Select Language.

Step 6: Select your preferred Language option.

Step 7: After selecting your preferred language option, return to Maps view in your Google Maps app.

Step 8: Tap Go at the bottom right of your screen.

Step 9: Enter your location and desired destination. Tap Start and you should hear Google Maps with the new sound you selected.

How to Change Navigation Voice in Google Maps for iPhone
Unlike Android devices, Google Maps is not preinstalled on iPhones. Users must download it from the App Store to access. Changing the navigation voice on the map also requires changes in the iPhone Settings. Check out the steps below to find out how:
Stage 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Tap on General.

Stage 3: Select Language and Region.

Step 4: Tap the iPhone language.
