Microsoft Outlook collects your emails, calendar and files in one app for android. It works with your Gmail or Yahoo Mail accounts as well as Microsoft 365. But it would be strange if the app is not working and many Android users are facing it.
While the Outlook app has always had its notorious sync and notification issues, many users complained about its performance, especially on Android. We will show you how to end all Outlook app issues on Android with these solutions. So let’s get started.
1. Check Internet Connection
You can start by checking the internet on your phone, as the Outlook app requires an internet connection to work properly. Sometimes poor internet connection may lead you to believe that there is a problem with the app.
2. Restart Phone
If you are sure that the internet is working fine, the next thing you should do is to restart your phone. Restarting your device will stop all apps and services running on your phone and will also help fix minor bugs and issues in the process.
3. Turn off Power Saver
The power savings on your Android often restrict an app’s ability to run at its full potential. The same goes for the Outlook app. If you have enabled a power saver on your phone, this may interfere with Outlook’s ability to sync and update data efficiently. So you can try turning it off to see if it fixes the problem. Here’s how.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on your phone and go to Battery.

Step 2: Go to Battery Saver option and click Turn off now.

Alternatively, you can also turn off battery saver on your phone by lowering the notification panel and tapping the Battery icon.

Pro Tip: If you want to extend battery life on your Android, try using the Outlook app in Dark Mode instead.
Once disabled, go ahead and see if the Outlook app works fine now.
4. Check App Permissions
If the Outlook app is not working properly as it should, it may be due to missing app permissions. So you can check if the app has been granted all the necessary permissions on your phone. Here’s how.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on your phone. Go to Apps & notifications.

Step 2: Scroll down and find the Outlook app in the list. There, go to Permissions.

Stage 3: Now tap and allow all available permissions.

Once complete, restart the app to see if it works fine now.
5. Update the App
Outlook app problems on your phone may be limited to the current version of the app. Possibly, newer version has been released by the developer that fixes such issues. So, you can try updating the app from Google Play Store and see if it helps.
6. Reset Account
The Outlook app also allows you to reset your account in the app to fix sync issues in the app. Doing so may help fix the Outlook app not working issue. Here’s how it works.
Stage 1: Launch the Outlook app on your phone. Tap the profile icon in the upper left corner to open the sidebar menu. Now tap the gear icon at the bottom to open the settings.

Step 2: Under Mail accounts, tap your email account. Next, select the Reset Account option. Finally, tap Continue to begin the reset.

The app resets the account and then restarts. Do not worry. You will not lose any of your emails.
7. Sign Out and Sign In
If resetting Outlook doesn’t help, you can try logging out of all your accounts and logging in again. Keep reading to find out how.
Stage 1: Launch the Outlook app on your phone, go to Settings.
Step 2: Under Mail accounts, tap on your email account and select Delete account at the bottom.

Stage 3: Finally, select ‘Delete from this device’ and tap on Delete.

Now, add your email account again to see if the issue is resolved.
8. Reinstall Outlook
